Creating A Fun, Safe Garden For Your Children

As the mum of five young children, I know how important it is to have access to a safe outdoor space for your children to play. Being cooped up in the house all day isn't good for the kids or the parents, but you also can't let young kids play in a space that's hazardous. When we bought our new family home, there was a lot of work to do in the garden to make it childproof, and we also wanted to make it a fun place for the kids to play. We erected a new fence, fitted a combination lock on the garden gate, had poisonous plants removed, cordoned off the pool and created a play area complete with swings, a slide and outdoor games. I started this blog to share my DIY gardening tips, and I hope you find it interesting and useful.

Simple Tips for Interior Motorhome Design

by Darlene Jenkins

Motorhome living presents a unique and fun opportunity to explore the country within a restricted budget. The alternative accommodation choices such as motels and hotels are expensive and they will not provide the comforts of home. A new motorhome is convenient and you will enjoy the freedom of traveling within your own timetable. Moreover, it promotes family bonding and you can bring pets on your extended travels. If you choose this traveling option, it is important for you to create ideal interior motorhome space to enhance aesthetics and comfort. Here are some ideas and tips to help you improve your new home.

Rugs & Mats

Modern motorhomes are built with sturdy floors fitted with good carpets; you can also purchase replacement coverings from specialist dealers. The carpets are expedient for functional use but they may not the desired visual appeal in the space. You should consider placing beautiful throw rugs and mats strategically in the motorhome to blend in and offset the monotony of the carpet.

For instance, you can install them at the entrance, in high traffic areas and outside the bathroom. They will add design interest in the home and protect the carpet from accelerated wear. You should ensure that the entrance mat is sturdy and dull to prevent damage and staining from debris and dirt from the outdoors.

Custom Decor

You should personalise the interior space with custom decor to create a motorhome that is uniquely yours. Moreover, you will feel more at home in your new vehicle if you have some familiar decorative items. For example, you can put up family photos around the rooms as well as paintings that remind you of home. A digital photo frame is an excellent addition especially when enabled with slideshow functions.

You should also consider setting a memento board for hanging collectible items from your travels. These can be stickers, ornaments, custom pins and even pressed leaves. It is advisable to avoid setting up breakable decorative items such as small sculptors because they are likely to fall when the motorhome hits rough road patches.

Furniture

The furniture in the motorhome will dictate the appeal of the living area because the pieces will seem prominent in the small space. If you want to use your regular household furniture, consider having the items reupholstered to suit the style in the rest of the space. You can also order specially designed motorhome furniture if the pre-installed items are undesirable. Additionally, consider buying beautiful covers for fabric-covered furniture to minimise fading due to solar exposure.
